In “Rise and Be New,” artist Lily Camille Howell celebrates our divine potential. As descendants of Adam and Eve, we are fallen: separated from God’s presence and subject to temptation and death. But, through our mortal experience and Christ’s Atonement, we can become a “new creature” (2 Corinthians 5:17). We fall downward yet forward as we prepare to receive the gift of eternal life.
Here's the text of the poem:
I was fallen when God said, Rise
and be
new
new
new.
